Fred Oliveira is a Brazilian-born, Connecticut-raised director and cinematographer whose images live where the everyday brushes against the uncanny. Drawing from nature, lifestyle, and a hint of sci-fi, he builds worlds that feel close enough to touch yet slightly tilted, shaped by Belo Horizonte’s warmth and New England’s quiet clarity.

Moving between forest paths and city streets, staged moments and found ones, Fred’s work looks for the seam between the spiritual and the grounded. He works fluidly across narrative, documentary, and commercial spaces, on film and digital alike—guided by a love of simplicity, an eye for atmosphere, and a belief that small truths can carry a universe.
